The right way to remove nail cuticles
Many of us purchase a manicure kit, where we obtain many of the tools needed for the perfect manicure.
The kit provides the names of each tool which makes it easier for usage, but you have to be very careful when using these items since you could end up ruining your nails, for example: the cuticle nipper, if used incorrectly it can cause infections, damage to the skin and nails.
In a recent interview with Laura V. Cobos about nail care, she shared with us a very useful tip when it comes to getting the cuticle removed correctly.
“DO NOT CUT THE CUTICLE. The cuticle serves to keep the nails healthy and, if you cut it, you will remove that protective cap”. She added “Say goodbye to the little manicure scissors, which mistreat the cuticle and skin around the nails”. As an advice for cuticle removal she says that “It is best to soak your hands in warm water and then push the cuticle with an orange stick.”
An orange stick is a small wooden stick made of orange wood, it has pointed ends which makes it very helpful when doing a manicure.
Another tool that we have to careful with, is the “nail clipper” this tool shouldn’t be use to cut your nails except for toe nails. Click here to find out why
