Do you eat healthy, but can’t lose weight?
I was wondering the same thing when I started to eat more “healthy” to reduce my weight.
One of the biggest mistakes we make is to think that by eating salads we will lose weight and we will be in shape. Vegetables and fresh fruits are very healthy and when consuming a diet rich in these we can lose weight, but unfortunately the salads we consume are ruined with dressings full of fat, salt, sugar and chemicals. Example: The famous Cesar salad, consisting of romaine lettuce, parmesan cheese, croutons and cesar dressing. It sounds very simple and harmless but, did you know that this can contain up to 1200 calories?
My recomendation. Whether you’re in a restaurant or preparing it at home, make sure you use fresh ingredients, zero packaged ingredients like dressings, bacon or croutons. If you are not a fan of simple salads you can use olive oil, black pepper, low salt and fat cheeses or fruit to give it a little flavor.
The carbohydrates you eat play a very important part in your body, as these are a source of energy for your body. When you consume carbohydrates try to eliminate refined carbohydrates like sugar, sugary drinks, bread and white pasta.
My recomendation. Since carbohydrates are very important to our health, you can replace bread and sugary beverages (refined carbohydrates) with oatmeal, natural fruit and vegetable juices, legumes, or starches (non-refined).
There are many ways to eat healthy and enjoy! Like smoothies of fruit and veggies. Let’s say your biggest weakness is desserts or sweets. You can make modifications and even enjoy what you like. Example: A mango smoothie with blackberry syrup contains 227 calories but a sweet cotton milkshake contains about 576 calories, in the end both are sweet but one contains fresh ingredients and the other chemicals, dyes and preservatives that ruin your body, accumulate fat and the possibility of diabetes grows. Since you have an idea about what may be affecting your progress, make the necessary changes. Remember that it is not just about eating healthy, exercise is very important. Try to walk an hour a day and gradually add cardiovascular and strength exercises. Try this Whole Body Workout Routine.
