Have you found yourself wondering if those small bottles of super cute colors, that we paint our nails with are truly toxic and harmful for our bodies?
How about answering that with another question!
Did you know, that toxic Nail Polish chemicals can be absorbed by your body? And that these chemicals can change your hormone System?
In a study done by the EWG (Environmental Working Group) and members of the Duke University, found that chemicals like TPHP is also known as triphenyl phosphate, which is used in nail polish to make it more durable, can be the cause of early-onset puberty, neurodevelopmental problems and obesity.
YES, that gel mani that you get every two weeks can be causing these changes in your body, little girls and teens are more in danger.
Now that you are aware, try to avoid them. I know it’s not easy, because who wants plain boring nails?. At least I don’t!
There are many companies that are toxic-free, my favorite is Dazzle Dry who clearly specifies this on their website:
“Dazzle Dry creates flawless nails without flawed ingredients. By manufacturing exclusively in the U.S. and verifying each ingredient for quality and purity, we ensure that our entire line is free from animal byproducts, animal testing, and harmful chemicals such as toluene, formaldehyde, TPHP, nitrocellulose, camphor, formaldehyde resin, ethyl tosylamide, phthalates, xylene, and MEK.”
I have been using their products for 6 months and I love them, they offer a full variety of colors as well as a full nail system, you will never have to use those chemicals again. And the best part it’s long-lasting, I have gone two weeks without the color chipping away.
Here is a video of me doing my own nails using this brand.
If you feel like feeling pampered at the nail salon, you can always bring your own nail kit. And try to bargain for a lower price since you brought your own product.

I’ve never heard of Dazzle Dry before but it sounds like an incredible company. I’ve tried to be a bit more cautious about what I put on and in my body. I, for some reason, completely neglected to account for what nail polish does to my body

Hi Stephanie, I also did’t know about them until earlier this year.
And I completly understand, we mainly think of skincare and makeup but nails count too. I am glad this article could help you. 🙂

Now a days I have stopped applying nail polish. Only on special occasions I would prefer to apply it.
