Urban Decay cosmetics released a new palette, The Naked Heat.
I recently pushed through and purchased the UD Naked Heat Palette on Sephora.com. I was so exited to have it in my hands. The sheer excitement forced me to do my full makeup, even though I was going to workout later in the day. I am sad to say that the product was somewhat disappointing.
Urban Decay Naked Heat could have been better. (Click to Tweet).
Here are my thoughts about this palette:
Design: Urban Decay’s concept of “heat” was well represented, the outer box has a colorful design ranging from red to yellow. The inner box has a cool picture of burned matches, showing us how hot we can get by using their eyeshadow. Having a palette made out of plastic makes it easier to use than metal.
Color Shades. The color shades on this palette was a huge disappointment for me. Urban Decay seemed to focused too much on their red and pink colors. The concept was heat. I did not see any yellow, brown or black shades. Maybe they could have included blackout or whiskey shades from their previous palettes? The only thing I can give Urban Decay a pass on is that this is a Naked palette, so the colors are neutral. Then why call it heat?
This palette provides 12 shades of color that vary from matte to glimmery. The colors are too similar for my taste, especially the glimmer shades like scorch and lumbre.
Quality. Urban Decay quality of ingredients are great in this product. Color shades blend together very smoothly. They are well pigmented providing the exact color on the skin and can last all day long.
Overall, this is an adequate palette to add to your collection, if you are missing some reds in your life. If you are looking for an everyday palette, then this will not work. You will get the same look due to the lack of color variation.
